4. General information on data protection
Data processing when visiting websites

When you access a website, a large amount of data - including personal data - is automatically transmitted over the Internet. From a technical point of view, this is necessary so that the website access works at all and also in order to be able to provide you with the best possible result.

For example, whenever you access a website, an image is retrieved from a server, an external plugin (or script) is loaded, a video is streamed or one of the many other transmission options is used, data is sent from your computer to the server where you can access them. When you access a website, your browser (e.g. Firefox, Internet Explorer, Edge, Opera, Safari) automatically sends certain information from your system. These data are, for example:

Website from which the website or a file (image, script, video) is accessed or in which the file is integrated (referer)

     operating system

     Screen resolution

     Keyboard layout (language)

IP address from which the website or file was accessed

Name of the website or file accessed

Timestamp (date and time) of the call

Name of the browser and its version

     amount of data transferred

Access status (file transferred, error code)

This data is logged by each server. The logging takes place, for example

Maintaining and checking IT security (e.g. to detect hacker attacks) and IT operations

statistical analysis (about the use of the website)

     Improvement of the website

adapted output of the website or files so that they can be displayed in an optimized manner on your device

No pseudonymization or anonymization is used for security protocols, as it would then not be possible to draw conclusions about potential attackers. As a rule, the data is evaluated anonymously for other purposes and no profile is created. Further information can be found further in this data protection declaration.
Affected person

The “data subject” (also called “data subject”) is the person whose personal data is collected and processed. In the following, the “data subject” is also referred to as “website visitor” or “user”.

Information on the rights of those affected

Every person affected can assert their rights (rights of those affected) against the person responsible. This can be done by email, post or a provided form. Telephone inquiries are also possible. However, telephone inquiries will only be accepted and will not be answered over the phone. The person responsible selects the medium (post, email, other media) and sends the person concerned the answer to their request via this medium. Responses to inquiries about the rights of those affected are provided free of charge. If the data subject's rights are exercised excessively (e.g. in large numbers), a fee may be charged. The answer will be given within the statutory period of one month. The deadline can be extended in exceptional cases (e.g. high number of requests or high complexity of the request). The extension of the deadline must be justified. The rights of those affected are listed below. For the sake of clarity, we have noted the rights of those affected in bullet points. Behind each list you will find a link to detailed explanations (on the HUBIT data protection pages).
